The Ex-Debutantes from Joys of Summer
If there’s one thing Dan can do, it’s throw a party. Seriously. Looks like quite a line up of entertainment. Can I come next time?
Sadness of just-painted rooms. I love this poem about painting an old room in Bushwick. I have painted so many old rooms. Panic painting an apartment that looks like something died in it. Painting a bathroom navy blue and feeling the walls close in around you. Painting a rock n’ roll studio baby blue and having it look more like you are expecting a baby boy.
We hear Bushwick is still affordable. Alright people, it’s not actually that hard to move to NY. Not when you have the raw marketable talent of Keith from Project Runway! I have to say though, his featured design looks like it could be in the window at Joyce Leslie.
“Kind of like a Monkees vibe.” The Villager profiles the local band The Stalkers. I enjoyed the description of a hipster vs. hater fight at a Williambsburg BBQ. It made me think of this.
“Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them”. - (Quote Act II, Scene V). Twelfth Night at Goodbye Blue Monday. Who, what, when, where, why, and which bus they took to get there.
Space. My space, your space, outer space, secret space, new space. Surreal Estate is a new community space planned for 15 Thames.

Because I link to things that mention Bushwick in ways I find interesting. The article, suggests Bushwick as a suitable place for Keith to move too, after his rant that moving to NY will be so difficult/impossible now that he didn’t win.
Damn, there are so many purists out there! I find all of the comments that whine about things we write about really being in ridgewood, east williamsburg –or emails making us painstakingly define “bushwick-based”—really obsessive. I would really love to look at your sock drawers.

ah, i see, now. sorry about that. all i originally saw was that the link was to a pr recap. as i had already seen the episode and didn’t remember a mention of keith moving here, i skimmed the article and didn’t see the bushwick mention at the very end, i guess. it at first seemed like a disconnected and irrelevant tidbit, at first. i stand corrected.
it being probably the only time i ever pointed anything out in a comment on this blog, i wouldn’t really consider myself “obsessive”. i don’t wear socks very often, but my hosiery drawer is actually just a duffel bag with a bunch of rolled up tights in it. i can take a picture if you like.
