Bushwick Apartment Roundup 9/3/08

Focusing on one-bedrooms this week — keep in mind, the closer to the city you get, the more expensive the places will be.

$1300 — alcove(?) studio: It’s listed as a one-bedroom but the description says studio — either that’s a mistake or it has an alcove. Either way, it’s clear someone put thought into this space, with it’s exposed brick, skylight, and pine floors. This place has cool features and an interesting look to it.

$1500 — 1br: Your standard cheaply renovated Bushwick apartment, this one at least with some exposed brick. Seems a bit pricey for a one-bedroom apartment, but this could be larger than normal.
Jefferson and Wilson | street view | Morgan/Jefferson L

$1350 — 1br: Looks like this one will be a bit nicer than most for this price. Wood floors, high ceilings, decorative fireplace, and good location between the Morgan and Jefferson stop areas.

$1329 — 1br: Slick renovation, but don’t stare at those floors too long, you’ll burn your retinas. And you better know Bushwick well or you won’t even get to see the apartment. A few too many time-wasting clients for this agent, I’d say.
PETS OK | Broadway and Halsey | street view | Halsey J |

$900 — 1br: It’s in a basement, but at this price, you might not need those annoying roommates. And it has a window! To what, I can’t tell.

Bushwick wannabe: Now East New York wants in on the Bushwick action. Sorry guys, you’re still a few years out, despite the great architecture.

I’ve noticed a lot of buildings going through interior renovations I guess to become rentals like these. Where is the best place to look for rentals in Bushwick - or is there one?

Hit the streets or look on Craigslist. That’s basically it.
