Bushwick Apartment Roundup 7/16/08

$2000 — 3br: Here’s your chance to live on one of the best blocks in “Greater Bushwick” — a beautiful, bow-front apartment full of original details and modern amenities where they count. New kitchen and bath fit right in with old moldings. There’s even a crystal chandelier. Check it out!
Stockholm and Onderdonk | street view | DeKalb L
$1500 — 1br: Awesome details in this huge-looking apartment on Bushwick Avenue. Walk-in closet? Weird, but cool. Maybe it used to be a bedroom? There’s an open house Friday from 2-5pm.
Bushwick and Suydam | street view | Myrtle JMZ
$1775 — 2br loft: I have always liked red kitchens. This big loft in the Tea Factory has lots of red, and lots of space.
PETS OK | Stockholm and Wilson | street view | Central M/DeKalb L
$1200 — 1br: Cheap, convient, clean. 1″.5″ bedrooms — make of that what you will.
DeKalb and Wilson | street view | Central M/DeKalb L
$1250 — 2br rr: There are still places available at this building on the park. Great location, guys, and the renovation is passable.
Starr and Knickerbocker | street view | Jefferson L
from the wtf file: It’s a nice apartment, a bit far from the action — but you get a free ipod nano if you rent this place.
Bushwick wannabe: You’re way off, buddy — by about half a mile.

Ironic that one of the best blocks in “Greater Bushwick” isn’t even located in Bushwick!

Not located in Bushwick proper would be a prerequisite for being located in the “Greater Bushwick” area.

Uh, ok. So Astroland is the best amusement park in the “Greater Bushwick” area.

Love the tile work they used on the yard floor. Jeremy, you might want to consider something like this once you’ve extracted every last bit of antediluvian trash from your yard.
And ricmac01, “Greater Bushwick” means the area surrounding Bushwick. It’s the same usage found in the term “Greater New York” which would include New Jersey and Connecticut. Your example of Astroland would be called a “Greater Hyperbole”. Have a great day.

Tony, I appreciate your labeling my example as a “Greater Hyperbole”(it was so intended), but I am surprised with your definition of “Greater New York” to include New Jersey and Connecticut.

Hi ricmac01.
I grew up in New York, and I recall when watching the news on TV, the weathermen would often say things like “expect showers in the greater New York area tonight through tomorrow afternoon”, all the while showing a weather map with clouds covering all of new York, parts of Jersey and even southern Connecticut. It was a common term used by newscasters. I could be wrong, wouldn’t be the first time.

Nah, you’re right Tony, ricmac01’s being a clueless transplant douchebag. These people have no idea what they’re talking about when it comes to the New York area.
