Bushwick Open Studios Retro: Factory Fresh

We made sure to stop by the grand opening of Factory Fresh Gallery — Bushwick’s newest (and much-anticipated) addition. Ali Ha and Ad Deville (former owners of the Orchard Street Gallery on the LES) rehabbed a former bodega into a fabulous showroom, complete with yard and (from what I hear) living space above. It was a gorgeous Friday night pre-sweltering heat and the backyard was the perfect spot to catch the last of the sun with a beer and some super cool cats. Seemed like a(nother) sign of things to come on Flushing Avenue.

What we saw: Pop/street art heaven. Skewville’s limited edition silk-screened wood posters and one of a kind mixed media pieces — some made from materials found in the renovation of the building.

Read about the gallery on their website and Skewville’s famed past projects here.
