Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings

Tell me you love Bushwick. Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings recorded “Tell Me” in early 2007. The video (their latest) was shot in Bushwick and recently posted to “M.I.S.S word on the street.” Their label, Daptone Records, is also Bushwick based, and if you have not heard Budos Band, also with Daptone, do have a listen.

It’s over for us. Gossip girl is getting its very own Bushwick character next season, played by bohemian socialite Arden Wohl. Her character is a video artist, lives in a fabulous converted loft, and gets killed by an L train. Barf. The shows’ handling of Brooklyn is already inconsistent and wrong, so I can’t wait to see how they flub this up.

I’m the one that put the “Range” in the “Rover.” The Bushwick Social Club “jump-off” party came through in the Brooklyn Mint gear. There was break-dancing.

Winner winner, chicken dinner. Two “internet celebrities” present this documentary-comedy on the evils of check-cashing. Shot on location in Bushwick and Carroll Gardens.
