Bushwick Apartment Roundup 4/2/08

$2099 — 3br: I know it’s pricey, but this is how it’s meant to be done. This house has been restored, not renovated, by the owner-occupant. All the details seem to be in place, and the owner assures that the pictures do it no justice. I can personally attest to the “sweetness” of the block and neighborhood up that way.
PETS OK St. Nicholas and Greene DeKalb L

$1200 — 1br: Classic details, wood floors, and high ceilings in this brownstone one-bedroom on (or around the corner from) lovely Bushwick Avenue.
Linden and Bushwick Gates JZ

$1290 — 2br rr: Your basic decent Bushwick railroad, convenient to good food, the park, and the train.
CATS OK Wilson and Starr Jefferson L/Central M

$1000 — 1br: Another abused little one-bedroom that needs your careful attention and thrifty nature. Landlord: “do whatever you want.” That’s your license to save.
PETS OK Greene and Bushwick Kosciuszko J

$1695 — 2br: First off, I’d offer $1500. The interior is nice enough, good new kitchen, but $1700 to live across the street from the Verizon parking lot strikes me as a bit steep. The trade off, of course, is that no buildings across the street means your living room is a nuclear fireball of sunlight.
PETS OK Central and Jefferson St Morgan L/Myrtle JMZ

dishonorable mention: Get. Out. $1700 for a regular ass two-bedroom near nothing Bushwick has to offer, across the street from the PROJECTS? Why would anyone who could pay this rent care about the nearby beauty salon? Put the crack pipe down, son.

dishonorable mention #2: Hell. No. A cruddy BASEMENT apartment practically up East New York’s ass for $1300? The photo through the window looks like it was taken from a jail cell! DAMN.
