Fotos: Alley, Cypress/DeKalb

The left building is almost imperceptibly higher than the right one, to follow the grade of the hill, but the strip of bricks near the base makes it more obvious.

is this alley like, open to the public, or is it behind a fence? it seems very rare to find an open alley with which one could access somebody’s back yard. i’ve seen this in Kensington but never up here.

They are rarer in Ridgewood and Bushwick….but you see plenty of open alleys/driveways in Glendale, Middle Village, Maspeth, etc.

Yeah, it’s wide open, the whole block is. I agree it’s weird. This is like my dad’s cousin’s house in the Bronx, they share a driveway with the neighbors.
