Two Bushwick institutions were awarded “Best of NYC” in the Village Voice this week:
Goodbye Blue Monday for “Best Place To See Great Up-and-Coming Bands Before They Embrace Their Own Hype”
Trees Not Trash for “Best Reason To Take Up Gardening”
Congrats to both winners and here’s hoping that next year’s awards features even more Bushwick businesses (which will hopefully be open by then).

We’re trying to stir up more commercial activity and suggested a commercial real estate listing to show the benefits of having a business here.

I think that’s a great idea (Jay). Bushwick is ready to have new budding businesses along the avenues; they just need to know this.

what was especially nice about these awards is they were among the few nonsarcastic ones given.
i went by GBM the other day, they had just hosted a party of manhattanites from the art world, i hope it hasn’t already jumped the shark!
