Not only is local label Lit City about to drop releases by some of Chicago’s biggest names in juke, it’s bringing them all to the area for a warehouse party tomorrow night. DJ Rashad, and DJ Manny will bless the decks at the space where Ghe20 G0th1k usually throws its parties. The first release for the label will be an album by Rashad. That will be followed by EPs from Spinn and Manny. All three are members of the Ghetto Tekz. Manny is also one of the top dancers in the footwork scene and heads up the Taliban crew. He’ll be dancing at the party, accompanied by Rashad Harris from the Tribe crew. Brooklyn’s Cluster Mag recently sent a team to the Chi for a documentary on the Ghetto Tekz and will be screening some clips at the party.

Below is a remix of “Footcrab”, a juke-influenced bass music track from London that helped spark international interest in the decades-old scene. If you made it to the last Lit City party with Rashad at Santos, you might have heard this.

This post was edited. It originally said DJ Spinn was performing. Also, most of Rashad’s album was written this year not ’09.
