Police are searching for two men in connection to a brutal rape over the weekend.
An NYPD spokesman told BushwickBKÂ that two Hispanic men attacked and raped an unidentified woman near the corner of Jefferson Street and Evergreen Avenue Saturday morning around 5am. Rumors that the woman was aslo killed are not true.
The men are described as being 25- to 30-years-old and both being 5’9".
The 83rd Precinct set up a check point near the site of the crime and was asking drivers for identification.
"We are here because of the rape and hope to get more information," said an officer at the scene.
Last year, just two blocks away, another woman was raped, and the attacker was never found. The NYPD warned it expected crime to rise in 2011.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

So despicable that this still happens, I hope these low lifes are thrown in jail for the rest of their lives… what scum of the earth.
Less than a block away from where I used to live. So sad.

Absolutely disgusting. It’s crimes like these that make me support the death penalty in NYS. There is no reason these 2 should be alive.
and stop “liking” this article for Facebook, what the hell is to like about it?

A damn shame.
Yes throw them UNDER THE JAIL
Misty August 24th, 2011 at 11:10 pm
She was raped on Jefferson Street… they didn’t even have the “decency” for lack of a better term to go to evergreen… they beat her and raped her in front of residential buildings. scary times!

I’m glad this is finally getting some exposure. Rapes and muggings seem to be on the rise in Bushwick. Atleast 3 ppl on this same block have been mugged in the past couple of months.. I have friends on Jefferson Street. The police need to beef up their presence in Bushwick and women need to be cautious and travel with friends late at night. I wish this girl who got beaten and raped on Jefferson Street a full recovery and I’m praying for her and her family.

Dunno bout you folk but I have noticed more skeevishness, drunken sleeping in the park homelessness and other assorted sketch in the last few months. Shit is getting rougher around the edges again.
No excuse for this kind of sickness I hope they get run over and bleed out in the street. And no blame on the victim but COME ON! Shitacular backwater Evergereen and Jefferson, alone at 5am? FUCK. THAT. NOISE. People, watch yourselves.

If I find these two, I will personally rape them.
I’m often out in this hood at wee hours… If I ever see any activity like this, you can bet I will be taking the matter into my own hands.

wow… this is just horrible. One minute your eating tacos and then something like this happens? Just a few weeks ago this kid I know got jumped and beaten with golf clubs in this same area. They messed this kid up badd.
I’ve been living here all my life, and I’ve seen some real nasty stuff, this place is hard. I know its changing with all these young kids moving in the area… perhaps this is a territorial issue.
Now if this was in a fairly high traffic area, in front of large residencies, why did no one see? I have a feeling someone did… and due to their guilt and social retardedness, they did nothing.
How will these men be caught? DNA? it sounds like they won’t, and it sounds like they will strike again… at any moment. Theres a lot of hardcore MF’s in the Bush, and it dont seem to be getting any better.

Stick them in Riker’s and throw away the key. I’m sure both of their 5’9 frames will look real sweet and pretty to the homeys

How’s the checkpoint going? Did that strategy work?
vengence August 31st, 2011 at 5:04 pm
why send them to jail (waste tax dollars on losers) when you can just cut off the penis and remove their ‘manlihood’.

Is there any more information on these guys? No picture? No further descriptions?

I see more beat cops standing around Myrtle, Morgantown, Knickebocker, etc. but so little presence a) at night and b) on Bushwick between flushing & myrtle, or anywhere between Bushwick and Wilson/Knickerbocker. Say what you want about the looming Big Brother presence, but I really feel like having a few cops floating around does a lot for someone with bad ideas on the brain, even if they’re the lowest rejects of the NYPD (short of traffic cops)

Has it escaped anyone’s attention that the police station on Central avenue and Flushing is only like 4 short blocks from this location? Apparently they only serve the nearby projects. Hmmm

People are going have to protect THEIR LIFE, by any means necessary.
When I was a student in the early ’70s at Most Holy Trinity HS, I had to defend myself while traveling from school to my home on 161 Irving Ave. I had a cattle prod, that I tinkered with and swapped out a smaller capacitor for a larger one. I used to have it in my gym bag with my books.
I was taking a Canarsie bound train home, when this Hispanic guy with a big afro and denim jacket with the sleeves cut off. While the train was in Morgan station, this guy pulls me out of the seat and onto the platform. I was 14 years old and weighed about 95 lbs. He pulls out a knife and starts swinging it at me. I quickly draw out my wand which he snatches and pulls it toward himself. I don’t let go. I attempt push it into his torso; I hit under the armpit and he just drops on the platform. My heart is beating a million times a minute. I quickly grab his knife and try to slash his throat. The blade is dull and useless. So I stick it in his ear a few times, until I heard other voices up on the mezzanine level and the exit gate slamming. I took the knife and threw it in my bag and jetted towards the opposite end of the platform and exited out on to Bogart St.
The school closed down a year later in 1972, the same year my family moved to Staten Island. “Pee Wee” became partially deaf and died a few years later of a heroin o.d. I still have the knife.

I agree that people have to know how to defend themselves, and should avoid precarious situations like walking alone in wee hours of the morning–ANYWHERE.
I also agree that there needs to be more police presence in Bushwick. I live on Stockholm st bew. Knickerbocker and Wilson aves, and I have lost count of how many times I have called the police or 311 to report teens smoking pot, loitering in groups, littering and just generally disturbing the peace OUTSIDE my building and on my block in general.
The police do NOTHING. My apartment building was robbed three times in ONE WEEK in July. The thieves broke in through the fire escape windows and were never caught. It seems to me that the police accept that kind of behavior and that there is not a big enough effort to stop crime. It’s really sad.
