The fifth annual Huggabroomstock is this Saturday at Goodbye Blue Monday. The festival, launched by anti-folk band Huggabroomstik in 2007, features 23 bands between two stages with music carrying on into the small hours of Sunday.

This year’s line-up includes Jason Trachenburg’s the Pendulum Swings, the all too cleverly named Elastic No No Band, the conflicted Zombie Jesus and the Chocolate Sunshine Band, the melancholic Erin Regan, and many others. The evening will be closed by festival founders Huggabroomstik. For those uninitiated into sardonic sensibilites of anti-folk, this is a pretty good taster of both the local scene as well as an introduction into the genre at large.

Things kick off at 3pm. Entry is free. Visit the Huggabroomstock Facebook page for the full line-up and set times.
