Wait… was it the green wire or the blue one??.

Awkward Landing” is a basic but effective track, resting on an acid house foundation and featuring throwback drum hits, grunting rhythmic samples, and epic synths. It was written by Bushwick resident Palgz, otherwise known as Mark Palgy, the bassist from VHS or Beta.

Acid, which lately has seen a renewed interest, is a genre based on the 303 synth from the early 80s. The 303 was a failed attempt to provide guitarists with a new form of bass and didn’t gain traction until house producers began to use it later in the decade. They squeezed from it a futuristic, hard bass that one could easily imagine having the same effect on people that the wobble had in the late aughties.

Once you come out of the hypnosis “Awkward” induces, which is Palgy’s first solo track, check the rest of his housey output on his Soundcloud page.
