Everyone has at least one friend who isn’t concenrned with looking cool, who bubbles over with enthusiasm for everything, and, goofy though he or she may be, is generally just a pleasant person to be around. The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! is what it sounds like when that goofy, loveable friend of yours starts a band.
The band are as much about performance as they are music, and their sets feature props, costumes, and other assorted wackiness. The music equally feeds off of quirk, combining lyrics that range from really rather silly to touchingly candid in strings of overlapping vocals. They have a solidly accessible pop sound, despite their regular use of syncopated rhythms, and frequently flirt with minimalist arrangements, only to be countered by something as bombastic as a showtune.
The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! are playing Silent Barn on Sunday. They’re joined by Rich Aucoin, David Liebe Hart, , and Humbert Humbert. Tickets are $10, doors are at 8pm.
