Street art is meant to be seen by everybody and not be exclusive. So why not paint the everyday person? That’s the outlook of Rimx, who paints the portraits of those he meets in the streets with spray paint on walls as part of his new series, “16 Barras”. Over the past three weeks he’s focused mainly on East Williamsburg and Bushwick. Photos and video of the series, as well as other works, can be viewed at TriBeCa’s White Train gallery. As a Puerto Rican living in New York, the choice of Mobius Collective for the soundtrack of his videos is fitting. The collective is formed on a collaboration between the two countries.
