The Rick Ross anthem “BMF” was unavoidable this summer, with seemingly every expensive car in the streets bumpin it and the endless stream of remixes. But Bushwick’s House of Ladosha interpretation was probably the most unexpected, turning the original’s prison references into US Weekly sightings. “I think I’m Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell/Up in French Vogue, you know the pose” is the new hook. “Blowin’ Money Fast” now stands for “Black Model Famous”. Rhymes jumping back and forth from drugs to designer clothing never sounded so original. And if ever there was a definition of swag, cross dressing while proudly displaying a goatee should be included.
The trio recently showed their love for the hood when they dropped “Witches of Bushwick,” a grimey slow dance jump off that brings new meaning to the genre drag. They prefer to categorize their music as ‘cunt’, however. Grab that for free over at Fader Mag.
