Dream DiaryWe’ve come to the time of year when shows can be called Christmas Parties (or non-specific holiday parties), and you can start getting into the festive mood tonight at Shea Stadium.
Tonight’s Totally Rad Xmas Party not only brings together a great assortment of jangle punk, it also gives you the opportunity to wear that tacky ’90s Christmas sweater you bought for seasonal irony. The predominantly Brooklyn-based, predominantly Kanine Records-signed bands lean heavily on the late-’80s Glaswegian approach to tonality: Up beat melodies scratched to hell by some unidentified abrasion. The line-up includes Grooms, We Are Country Mice, Eternal Summers, and Xray Eyeballs, but we’re anticipating that the warm guitars and sweet vocal harmonies of Dream Diary will be the standout of the evening.
The Totally Rad Xmas Party is tonight at Shea Stadium. Doors are at 8pm, tickets are $5. And they are actively encouraging Christmas sweaters.
