Holy heatwave. Suddenly it doesn’t feel like fall anymore. The new crop of students moving to Bushwick this week says otherwise, however. It’s last-chance-for-summer this weekend, so go out and make the most of it! Remember to visit the Culture Calendar (filled by Melissa!) for a LOT of additional options. Silent Barn, The Acheron, Shea Stadium and Goodbye Blue Monday have plenty of bands to choose from all this week. Plus the latest addition to our farmers’ market network!
Today
AT NOON! Go get some fresh produce at our newest farmer’s market off the Myrtle-Wyckoff stop! Live music, food tastings, and hourly drawings for food prizes, including two $50 Bushwick Farmers’ Market shopping sprees. That rules.
Tons of bands at Goodbye Blue Monday, Silent Barn, and Shea Stadium — check the calendar for the details.
Friday
Unusual — see some visiting Italian bands at Silent Barn, 6pm-9pm. Tribraco is a psycho-jazz-rock quartet from Rome, and Neo is jazz-blues-punk from Latina province on the way to Naples. Sounds awesome.
Saturday
Last chance to check out TUNNELING at Famous Accountants. Closing party 6-7:30pm. “The exhibition has drawn a wonderful response, with multiple reviews locally and nationally. It is a tribute to the work of these artists and the alternative inspiring mission space of Famous Accountants.”
See Photon Dyname & The Shiny Pieces at Little Skips, Bushwick’s newest and cutest café. "Their music is great and (cross our fingers) they get super famous and play intimate shows at little skips throughout their career." 8-9pm
The Department of Human Works down by the Halsey J has a big lineup of bands — check the calendar for info!
Sunday
Check out the last of the summer (and possibly ever) Sunday Best party at BFP East – they sound legendary — go see!
Tuesday
The Bushwick Book Club presents “Songs of Dr. Suess” at GBM. What will they think of next?
I’m off to the midwest for the weekend, so have one for me! love,a
