postMagic is another one of those bands that seems to have forsaken the role of bassist in their line-up, but it can be forgiven. They layer such an exciting, well-meshed assortment of tones that “Buzz Around You” doesn’t lack for depth or texture. They’ve got a nice assortment of guitar effects, from clean to short-circuit frazzled, to gentle tones that blend well with their keys. The drums provide a steady, if unvarying beat, and occupy an indeterminable space between live and sampled.

The title features pretty much all of the lyrics, but there’s a charming simplicity to it (mostly because the vocals are scant enough that it doesn’t grate). But other songs on their EP, Curved Is The Line Of Beauty are a bit more lyrically complex, so don’t let that turn you off.
