Happy 4th of July! I’m currently in the midwest, but the party had already begun earlier this week in Bushwick! Rooftops, sunshine, fireworks (specifically the local DIY shows) — what could be better? Enjoy a fantastic week and have a grilled thing for me. And don’t forget to check later on today for our Bushwick World Cup Guide.

Tonight, So So Glos Dance Partay late night at Shea Stadium starting at midnight and featuring tons of DJs.

The House of Yes gets arty with the Gallery of Yes featuring affordable art by talented Brooklyners (including Jena Cumbo).

Saturday, get yourself to Tandem for an Electro Dubstep Night brought to you by Sky Report! Bushwick’s finest DJs (DJ Scot Bowman, Silent T and Jeremy Russell) will be on hand, so be sure to bring your most serious dance moves and tip those hot bartenders!

Mister Saturday Night is digging their new home at Brooklyn FireProof! They’re back from 6pm-2am in the courtyard.

Sunday: woo hoo! Really, the action’s at your favorite rooftop spot, but if you’re looking for additional stuff to do and see, there’s that too!

Roberta’s will be having a Tiki Dance Party (in traditional 4th of July fashion) as well as selling rooftop veggies.

Bushwick’s own Lady Magma will be playing at K&M in Wburg right after the fireworks (BBQ and big time drink specials involved)!

Department of Public Works hosts Umami +/or Fireworks. Sounds yumba!

Surreal Estate will host a "veggie friendly BBQ and three-floor party."

Monday, chill out and see some local sights.

Tuesday, ooh la la. The Bushwick Book Club takes on Anais Nin — they never cease to amaze.

Wednesday, local musician turned indie superstar Sharon Van Etten will be playing at Zebulon in the Burg. She remains amazing and her new album is coming out!
