The local music festival season continues on with the higher profile Northside Festival, which kicks off today. The festival is on until Sunday across Williamsburg and Greenpoint. But somehow Shea Stadium sneaked its way into the schedule, so score one for Bushwick. Band range from locals we love like Fluffy Lumbers and Ava Luna to big name acts like Liars and Wavves, and even the international and somewhat obscure such as Slow Club and the Wave Pictures.
Four-day passes are still available (and still worth grabbing) for $50. Badges for the event are 21+, but individual shows are ticketed, so the under-aged should look for venue policy for gigs of interest. And if only one band really strikes your fancy you can still see them play. Entry to shows with a badge is on a first-come-first-served basis, and a crowd will still be there even if you have a ticket, so arrive early for anything you’re particularly keen on seeing.
