Ok, Bushwick. This week has been a bit of a personal time clusterfuck/Mac madness and I’m at a bit of a loss locating the tons of events that are generally available to us. I’ve rounded up some gems, but I’d love it it you would help a lady out with some additional amazingness. List your rad events in the comments and I’ll be back up and running at regular speed next week. Promise.

Tonight

Storefront continues their tradition of 3rd Thursdays: a literary series featuring the work of emerging Bushwick writers and poets. Tonight’s readers: Eric Nelson and Peter Weisman. Their current show Utopia / Dystopia is up through June 20 — don’t miss it!

Check out Acid Tigers (& more!) at The Ascheron.

Friday

Get yourself to Williamsburg for a night of Bushwick superstars: Pass Kontrol / Not Blood Paint / Minks / Bad Credit No Credit play Cameo Gallery (which is such a cool venue). It will be awesome and I’ll see you there. (Also check out PK at Duck Duck on Montrose Sunday night!)

House of Yes is Gay Gay Gay Friday night with a "Post-Apocolyptic Freak-Show Dance Party" to kick off Pride Week! Performances, drinks and dancing. I’ll take it.

DJ Orion is in the back room at Tandem.

Saturday

Blue Sabbath Black Fiji (UK)/ Telecult Powers/Rust Worship Family Treasures are playing Silent Barn.

Duke it out at Mods vs Rockers at Beauty Bar.

Sunday

Sonic Medicine Wheel Summer Solstice Ceremony Show at the Numu Roof / Loft, (75 Stewart Ave) featuring Coyote Kolb, Mmoss, The Mast, We Are Country Mice, Doom Trumpet, Guitars, Kid Band & DJ Old And On Acid.

Monday

Make Music New York is a "live, free musical celebration across the city that takes place each June 21 — the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. On that day, hundreds of public spaces throughout the five boroughs — sidewalks, parks, community gardens, and more — become impromptu stages for thousands of free concerts." You don’t have to go far to enjoy fabulous lineups — check out Bushwick Starr and Little Skips (all day!).

Tuesday

Support the arts AND the kids at Norte Maar’s benefit for Camp Pocket Utopia at Hyperallergic in Williamsburg! One Image: One Minute, featuring many local folks including Deborah Brown, Chris Harding, Rico Gatson, Paul Rome, Laura Braslow, Ellen Letcher and yours truly.

A quick note — The Loom Studios is offering tons of classes (yoga, naturally, as well as other stuff) daily. Check out their calendar - classes are $5 in June!
