It’s ugly if you want to be all, knowing-what-you’re-talking-about-with-regard-to-architecture or whatever, but it is also charming the way that small houses are. And maybe somewhere behind that beige brick is a facade that might have something left to restore. Anyway, looks are not the point of this — the place is stupid cheap and in prime Bushwick. There are very few properties in Bushwick north of Myrtle Avenue that aren’t 6- to 8-unit, rent-stabilized railroad buildings, so when they come up, it’s a great chance to have an affordable house but still be walking distance to all the great stuff this side of Bushwick has to offer.

It’s a two-family but quite small — I’d guess it’s two one-bedroom units. The previous owner, possibly a flipper, seems to have bought it for a price 50% higher, so I expect they really just need to unload it. The lot is very underbuilt, so if you have the money down the road for an addition, you can more or less build whatever you want. Or just have a giant yard, and the house is semi-detached so you can walk straight to the back… for whatever that’s worth. For the price of a tiny condo you can have a whole compound.
