For a tiny one-block street off Broadway, Belvidere Street has a lot going on. Not only is it home to one of the last standing original beer breweries in the area, but it also bears the odd mosaic of old-fashioned graffiti/murals pictured above. Maybe it’s the late afternoon lighting or the beautiful composition of trash that almost looks like offerings laid out on the sidewalk, but Sabotai’s photo speaks to me … probably because that kid used to wave at me every time I went up to the roof of my old Locust Street apartment.
