Wednesday is the first day of the DIY Bushwick Festival, presented by Bushwick Music Studios in association with The Deli Magazine and Arts in Bushwick with shows at nine venues: Bushwick Music Studios, Brooklyn FireProof, Castle Braid, Eastern District, Glassdoor, Goodbye Blue Monday, House of Yes, Northeast Kingdom, and The Opera House Lofts. "The inaugural festival will feature Brooklyn-based bands, DJs, and artists performing in alternative Do-It-Yourself spaces just a walk or a bike ride apart…The festival kicks off at Wednesday the 24th at Eastern District at 5:00 with a free show!" 

The Bushwick Food Coop Film Club is back at Tandem with drink specials, organic popcorn, and a special screening of "The Power of Community – How Cuba Survived Peak Oil."

Little Skips presents their weekly Bushwick Chess Club event from 5-7pm.
