Hi Bushwick! I’m in a faraway land this week with limited time on my hands and I’m giving the picks my best shot! Without further delay:

It’s a big weekend for us… time for Arts in Bushwick’s SITE fest!!! I couldn’t possibly begin to list all of the amazing performance art and theatre happening. I’ve chosen a few events to list here, but please go to their site and see all of the possibilities. As festival founder and Bushwick A-lister Chloe Bass said herself, "there’s no way to see everything," but come on — go see some stuff!

Friday

Who needs the Armory?! There is a ton of new art to see right here.

There are openings at:

Factory Fresh: DAMAGE:CONTROL The Art of Boris Hoppek & Alex Diamond.

Centotto: Collaborative Forgeries, or Forged Collaborations. Featuring Collaborative teams: John Avelluto and Josh Willis; Adam Thompson, Zane Wilson and Abe Nowitz; Brent Owens and Jenn Brehm; Donald Daedalus and Maya Jeffereis; Fred Zhao and Anonymous; Paul-Luc de Vincent and Paul D’Agostino)

and NURTUREart: HUMAN SCALE, Curated by Louise Barry, Featuring: Andrea Moreau, Andrew Scott Ross, Ivan Gaete, Audrey Hasen Russell, James Reeder, Lucas Monaco, Max Liboiron, Nancy Radloff, and Tina Schneide.

Check out a panel at English Kills moderated by Bushwick’s very own newspaper man, Aaron Short: Comedy in the Digital Age: A Disorderly Discussion — with Sketch Comedian Groups: Murderfist, Skinny Bitch Jesus Meeting (naturally), and  Caitlin “C-Town” Steitzer. I heard a panel moderated by Aaron at last year’s event and it was awesome — so go to this one.

In non-SITE fest news, The Library is on Fire is playing on Forrest.
