Well, guys, it’s still winter. There’s no denying it today, so we’re going to have to throw on hats and go for it. A couple of personal recommendations to brighten the day a bit: 1. check out 181.FM – Star 90s radio (also available via iTunes) 2. watch this video. Those two internet gems are making my office happy this week.
Tonight, there’s a big show in the cozy Northeast Kingdom Den featuring Holler, Barry Bliss, Like, Mountains, and Dan Costello.
Friday is a big night!
3rd Ward is hosting an opening reception for Linda Gastaldello Presents: Just Women: "Join Italian Photographer Linda Gastaldello as she sheds light on the humanity of prostitutes living in impoverished areas of Kathmandu, Nepal and Mexico City, while questioning a society that allows women to be forced into sexual exploitation."
Ad Hoc Art (at Eastern District) presents "international stencil master Jef Aerosol in New York City for ‘All Shook Up,’ a stunning show of cultural icons by a Street Artist with 30 years in the game."

Saturday, you’re invited to the opening reception for In My Secrecy I Was Real at Famous Accountants Art Gallery on Gates Ave. The solo show by artist and writer Randal Wilcox features the artists’ saliva paintings: "In them Wilcox projects himself into a variety of disturbed and troubling situations, creating images that are reminiscent of both Pedro Bell and Leon Golub." There will be beers and snacks – go on over.
Check out local band BGosh at Goodbye Blue Monday – they’ll be on around 11!
Tandem presents: dj King Pop, Horoscope, Disbelief St. and DJ AS IF.

Tuesday, The Bushwick Food Co-op is hosting a movie night benefit bonanza at Tandem. They’llĀ be screening Big River, the sequel to King Corn (which takes place in Iowa, p.s.) plus some shorts and old food commercials. They’ll be joined by the good people who made the film, as well as musicians from The WoWz. PLUS snacks and $3 beer specials. All for a $5 suggested donation.
