  • Bushwick House of the Week: 643 Central

I’m not gonna lie, I think the place looks skeezy from the outside. But the neighborhood around this 6-unit building at 643 Central Avenue is full of well-built and still-attractive facades, most of which just need a good cleaning…

  • Bushwick Apartment Roundup 1/28/10

With 13 designers of clothing, t-shirts, jewelry, and hats, Karin is using her sunny storefront space as a way to promote her friends’ work as well as her own designs.

  • A Method To End Their Madness

This is the second-to-last column I’ll be doing for BushwickBK, as I’m moving westward to Williamsburg soon and will thus no longer be a resident of this particular area. I will note that there was just now, at 3:40 A.M. on Monday, an exchange of gunfire somewhere in the vicinity of my apartment at Broadway and Park Street, but otherwise I have nothing to report in terms of our community and its cultural undertakings. Rather, I’d like to spend the remainder of my output here in an effort to make a certain case.

  • Bushwick House of the Week: 377 Himrod

I love this little house, mostly because I have a thing for tall, narrow buildings. I should rephrase — it’s not little at around 2600 square feet, but it’s visibly narrower than the multifamilies around it…
