Goodbye and Good Riddance, 2009! It’s been quite a year and apart from a very few very wonderful events, this one has not been a personal fave.  Aughts — you’ve been a wild ride. Time to usher in a new decade Bushwick style!

Tonight‘s the night:

The Danger & 3rd Ward present one of their legendary all-night extravaganzas: New Lost City: New Year’s Eve. "This party comes in four sections spread across two buildings hidden in the heart of Brooklyn." Just to name a few of the performers on the line-up: Baja + Dry Eye Crew, The Hungry March Band, Stumblebum Brass Band, and The Lady Circus. 9PM-7AM, $29. 195 Morgan Ave (according to Lady Circus, you can just go straight to 341 Scholes to see them…)

Surreal Estate hosts New Year’s On the Rocks featuring: "Live funk, ska, psyche rock, gypsy shit, and an African drum ensemble. CSC FUNK BAND (power 8 piece with members of GWAR, usaisamonster, invisible circle, ostinato), DOLOMITES, SOFT BLACK, LORD JEFF, and DJs spinning Techno, Tribal House, Electro-funk, Old School Hip Hop, Afropop, and Brazilian Big Booty Bangas." Part of the proceeds will go to benefit the Bedford Bike Lane Activist Defense Fund. (10pm-6am, $20)

Goodbye Blue Monday hosts New Year’s Evil (2nd anniversary party) with "a buffet, hats, noisemakers and a champagne toast at midnight." Featuring: Marionettes of Satan, Teresa Amran, Brer Brian, Andrew Katz, Deep Sound Diver and possibly even more folks.

"SleepWhenDead is teaming up with Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt to take Shea Stadium and everyone inside it into the future with a ridiculous installation project." There will be bands literally all night — check the FB invite for all the deets, but just to name a few: Liturgy, Ava Luna, Fiasco, The Dead Virgins, a surprise sunrise performance on the roof and … pancakes (pancakes!) at 8am. I love Brooklyn.

Market Hotel hosts a special NYE edition of Mister Saturday Night. $50 ($40 reduced admission — email: mister@mistersaturdaynight.com) buys you an open bar and a full line-up including the stylings of headliner Omar-S: "brilliant deep house-techno producer, a Detroit contemporary of Theo Parrish and Moodymann."

Bushwick’s own Lady Magma are playing K&M at 10 with a Bud open bar from 10-11 and free champagne at midnight. They’re awesome & it’ll be fun!

Friday, recover, rehydrate, get started taking over the world.
