The Delaware Regiment fires away during the Battle of Long Island, one of the many subjects that will be covered in the upcoming historical walking tour.

Local historian Adam Schwartz is wrapping up his seasonal hat trick of Bushwick walking tours on Saturday and this time he’ll be reaching further back into time than ever before, covering everything from the great battles of the Revolutionary War to the great glaciers of the Ice Age.

But that’s not all — Schwartz will be joined by famed Bushwick historian John Dereszewski, who served as manager for Community Board 4 in the late 1970s, and Peter Puleo, an expert in the geography and history of old Brooklyn. So basically, this is the Bushwick tour for all you history junkies out there.

Schwartz, a local high school teacher, was the curator of the Up From Flames exhibit in 2007 and has since led numerous history tours in the neighborhood. His last tour of the year will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12 (rain date 12/13) from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and will begin at the Broadway Junction subway station. Tickets are $10.
