Wow, Halloween weekend in Bushwick was pretty unbelievable! I personally haven’t quite recovered, but there are no breaks around here! Time to suit up and head out again, team. It’s a big art & performance weekend (including but not limited to Arts in Bushwick’s BETA Spaces). Don’t you worry, there’s plenty of straight up partying to be done as well. It looks like the L train is gonna be semi-back to normal for a weekend, but no need to go too far away!

Friday, it’s ISCP‘s biannual Open Studios presenting "works by the 36 artists, artist groups and curators currently in residence at ISCP." A highlight: Elissa Levy’s NEVERandagain featuring her work as well as others including Austin Thomas and Rico Gatson. There are events and open hours happening through Monday — check their site for details.

More art on the menu at Fortress to Solitude’s Portrait Show featuring Don Pablo Pedro, Kevin Regan, Andrew Hurst and many others.

The House of Yes kicks off a very full weekend (check their events page for full details) with an "Anti-CMJ Festival."

Vivian Girls play Market Hotel.

Saturday, is just…. well, it’s action-packed.

The Central Bushwick Walking Tour has been rescheduled to this Saturday morning at 11.

There’s a big opening at 1717 Troutman. Black Thursday Halloween City/Black Friday Fireworks Stand including the Play With Fire Festival will "span 5 loft spaces and host over 70 artists." Saturday they’re open from 4-8 and Sunday 12-7 as part of BETA Spaces. Go. It sounds fun & quality.

Laundromat hosts an opening for a 2-day show featuring Maiko Shioda and Joe Protheroe.

There’s an opening at Blue Wolf Studios on Onderdonk from 6-10. 14 artists (video, paintings, sculpture, installations and photos) The place is really great — totally worth a walk to Ridgewood.

Shows at Market Hotel, Silent Barn and Bushwick Starr.

3rd Ward teams with Paper Garden Records for Multiverse Playground: An exploration into the evolution of music, art, and comedy. Art Battles, Das Racist, I mean — LOTS of stuff to see & hear there.

Not in Bushwick but effing cool: Todd P show at Brooklyn Museum’s Free First Saturday. Who’s in?

Sunday, visit Arts In Bushwick’s third annual BETA Spaces! "The free one-day festival itself functions as a ‘group show’ of (our) energetic and vibrant neighborhood … The festival takes place in approximately ten square blocks of industrial, post-industrial, commercial and residential buildings, permitting a wide range of alternative exhibition spaces." I can’t even begin to cover all the magic — so take a look at the line-up and see for yourselves! (btw — there will be no Moviehouse at 3rd Ward, but check back next month.)

While you’re out and about, I recommend a stop at Famous Accountants art gallery on Gates. Open hours every Sunday from 1-6pm with art, artists, coffee, snacks, talkin’. It’s awesome — go (and become a Facebook fan while you’re at it)!

Bow & Sparrow present aerial dance show at Bushwick Starr: NeverAfter.

Wednesday night head to BFP East at 8PM for weekly B*Y*O*C* crafting night. Crochet and whiskey ($1 shots). Can’t beat that?

Have a great one, Bushwick!
