You guys, it’s going to be such an awesome weekend!
It’s time again for the second annual "Bushwick Art Spaces Stay Open Late" on Saturday and I could not be more excited!
We are so lucky to have Jason Andrew always organizing up a storm and so many talented artists and curators putting together shows in Bushwick. Please spend some time and clicks on Jeremy’s oh-so thorough and expertly linked announcement, and read his fantastic article about BRAND-spanking-NEW gallery: Famous Accountants! I’m getting ahead of myself, however…
Tonight, Market Hotel is home to a WNYU party/show featuring Gary War and Fluffy Lumbers, among others. Also check out their weekend lineup — they’ve got shows Friday and Saturday (Showpaper benefit).
The Longest Lunch presents a workshop of "A Weekend at the NJ Shore" at the Bushwick Starr, tonight through Sunday.
Friday, get a jump start on the arting. Factory Fresh presents Grand Champions Forever Never Say Die, "the third presentation of the ongoing Grand Champions curatorial project." (They’ll also be participating on Saturday!)
Third Ward puts its massive markteing muscle behind yet another controversial "now" artist (um, anyone remember the Poster Boy show?) Dick Chicken presents a solo show at their NEW space. Dick Chicken: Girls and Snacks (lovely). Btw, artists, don’t forget — today’s the last day to submit for Third Ward’s Solo Show Project!
Starr Space hosts an evening of performance and video projection featuring live sets by Lucky Dragons, Goodiepal, and a special set by DJ Veronica Vasicka, accompanied by visuals by Lyndsy Welgos.
Bushwick Music Studios is having two "unCMJ" shows — Friday and Saturday. Check out the lineups.
Numu Arts Collective is hosting "Friends with Benefits: An extravaganza of music, art, beer, mulled wine, laughter, dance, and creativity to raise funds for the future of NUMU!"
Saturday, see you at This Beat Is Sick! Other stuff happening:
Gardening fun at Umoja Garden in the afternoon: "Party in the Pumpkin Patch: A spooktacular time to harvest and decorate your own pumpkin and plant some fall flowers!"
The Poetry Brothel is going to be at Castle Braid for "a Masquerade of epic proportions! Please note that the $10 admission also includes a FREE BEER and our first ever ‘Poetry Salon,’ an open mic portion of the evening."
SleepWhenDead is having another Subway Show! "The plan is to dress up like The Warriors, and turn the subway car into a Halloween-themed "ghost train." Participate as much, or as little, as you would like, but don’t be late. We head Brooklyn-bound on the JMZ from Bowery Station at 4pm sharp. The final stop is Myrtle Avenue, where there is a Showpaper Benefit at Market Hotel."
Monday is the monthly Sweatshop Social night at 3rd Ward.
Tuesday, Ching Chong Song (great band, but the name….), Hugga Broomstik and others play the House of Yes.
The Kingdom is showing selected episodes of The Mighty Boosh in the Den.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Party-throwers, please send all of your submissions to me by Wednesday to be included in next week’s special Halloween Round-up. Next weekend is gonna be so much fun too!

So, I was gonna ask where the Bushwick Music Studios was located, since there’s nothing on their myspace page, but after scrolling through that particular page, I found an old show poster that says they’re “Just off the Montrose L Trainm” and the address is listed as 55 Waterbury Street.
Thanks for the info.

Interestingly, not in Bushwick. Like many things.
