Why does every substantially sized event in Bushwick involve having fun but feeling bad about it?

well put.

what’s to feel bad about? these events sound super-positive to me…

“celebrate the autumn harvest and discuss consumption” — discuss consumption? the fuck does that even mean? Consumption has become a bad word, which makes sense because consuming sustains human life and eco-nutbags hate humans.
This Yo heart Bushwick thing is full of annoying “progressive” buzzwords like “sustainable” and “diverse” and all they seem to do is harp on condos and “displacement.”
And then that stupid Putting Lot, where college liberals can go pretend they’re having a conversation about urban land use when all they do is play mini-golf on a parking lot while getting sloshed.
Can’t anyone just drink a beer and watch a band without the facade of it being socially conscious or impregnated with political rhetoric? Can’t we have fun without being bombarded by sanctimonious drivel?

Nice tirade Professional, but I go out in Bushwick most weekends and have never felt “bombarded by sanctimonious drivel.” I’m gonna go ahead and quote you from August 4th in a response to a fashion piece…
“Everyone is so quick to shit on people’s work they do for peanuts or nothing. Why don’t you all just shut the fuck up, buncha fucking brats. hate hate hate”
Take your own advice here.

Nah, doesn’t stick in this case. I’m talking specifically about these people who cloak their good times in feelgood-outreach-sustainability blather. There is plenty of fun stuff to do in the hood that isn’t put on by people who are full of shit, and I didn’t mean to imply there isn’t.
