This week I chose apartments with four or more bedrooms, for those of you looking to share with a bunch of people.

$3500 — 5br: Okay, this seems to be three legal bedrooms and two basement ones, but the basement has direct access to the back yard and the building is brand new (they are empty lots in street view). I’ve been inside these and watched them being built, they are pretty nice (though the photos are terrible) and the yard is huge. The area is shaping up well.

$2250 — 4br/2ba: It’s gut-renovated, but the windows give a nod to the building’s past, and the fireplace is retained. Wood floors, new kitchen and bath are attractive enough, and French doors lend lots of light. Two bathrooms are convenient for roommates. The location is not the hottest, but it’s close to the train and a quick bike ride to fun and food.

$2099 — 4br: Not bad, this renovated apartment with exposed brick. The location is okay, a row of intact brick buildings very close to the subway hub and lots of basics shopping and food options.

$1750 — 4br loft: Gross. Looks like pre-renovation photos. This includes two “loft” bedrooms, which is just sleeping on top of the other two bedrooms. If you’re into the semi-communal thing, and are good with… well, everything having to do with cleaning and being handy, this place might do.
