
Well team: it’s fall. Seems like people are turning over new leaves, putting their fall looks together and getting super busy planning stuff for all of us to go see! Tonight, head to Starr Street for the Bushwick Starr’s latest production, Rocky Philly. This is a big one — go check it!
There’s also a big party situation happening at Beauty Bar over on Broadway.
Friday, openings galore. Head to 3rd Ward for "our first International Solo Show Artist, Netherlands native, Pim Palsgraaf, as he turns our gallery & your evening into an apocalyptic aftermath."
Also on the bill, a topical group show at NURTUREart on Grand: "PLAN B is an investigation of the emerging artist response to the current economic crisis."
Really! is back at Tandem (in the snazzy new back room) for an end-of-summer bonanza! Famous DJs, hot go-go dancers, drink specials, debauchery. Not to be missed.
There’s a big Bikes in the Kitchen show at Market Hotel featuring Wild Yaks and The Intelligence, among others, and Real Estate is playing Silent Barn.
Saturday, there is a ginormous blow out art opening/happening going on at Castle Braid that will continue through October. The Brooklyn Artillery lineup is crazy: galleries like Eyelevel BQE, Fleetwing, Gitana Rosa, Horse Trader, Like The Spice, Lumenhouse, and YES! Gallery, will be participating — as well as: DJs, live music, installations, films (including a piece by Rebecca Conroy at 4!) … AND you get a peek inside and a big party all day.
The B-Cat & C-Town Variety show (cannot believe I’m missing it again — everyone go!) over on Forrest at Petri Space.
Brent Owens’ solo show Gnastic Pursuit opes at English Kills.
In terms of music, Bushwick Music Studios has a big lineup for you, Goodbye Blue Monday is reliably booked with bands and Bushwick faves, and Pass Kontrol and Lady Magma are playing at Bruar Falls in the Burg!
Sunday, go see what Moviehouse is up to on their one year anniversary at 3rd Ward! Congratulations, guys — we’re glad you moved to the ‘Wick!
Tuesday, test your knowledge at the Idiot’s Rule Quiz Night @ the Two80 Cafe and Lounge (280 Knickerbocker Ave.) Free Beer 7-8, pub quiz to shortly follow.
