This house at 1200 Decatur shares an interesting block with many types of housing, both old and new, attractive and hideous. Notably and unusually, there is a single-family Bushwick Avenue-type home across the street — horribly disfigured over the years but who knows what the future brings. As for 1200 itself, though it’s been altered, it retains some historic charm and has a proud air about it, probably due to its slight height advantage and well-preserved elegant cornice. Yet again, we have no idea what the condition of the interior is, but may surmise from the outside condition that it’s well-maintained, and this listing photo shows some construction debris out front. And at this price, to get three apartments — it seems they’re three-, two-, and one-bedroom — would mean living almost for free. The 25-foot width really makes a place feel spacious. Plus, the basement is “full finished” — *wink*.
