The mysterious “Real Reform” Brooklyn politics blog has done some digging on one Steve Levin, Vito Lopez‘s current Chief of Staff and candidate for the City Council’s 33rd district. We learn that he actually lived in the 34th district when he decided to become a candidate, before moving 26 blocks north into Greenpoint in order to be legally eligible to serve the 33rd. And despite Levin’s insistence that he’s his own man, his campaign HQ continues to be the Bushwick Democratic Club, part of Lopez’s empire.
