An unseasonably gorgeous weekend, a sweltering few days (finally! yay! but maybe a little too hot now!) and then a break for rain. Time to go out in shorts, a tank top, perhaps suspenders and make the most of the rest of the summer! (Btw — wtf happened to it anyway?)

Tonight, get some internet-based entertainment (memes, Hannah Montana and newscasts made from spam!) at 3rd Ward’s: A Night of Works by What We Know So Far.

Celebrate the release of Ava Luna‘s new album at Silent Barn (also be sure to check out their very full weekend of shows).

Downstairs Dustup acoustic night is on at the Northeast Kingdom Den with Frank Hoier and friends.

Friday, Factory Fresh brings us a spectacular-sounding night of local and international art and live music at their Brooklyn Bailout Burlesque. "Between high art and crumbling economy there is a commonground for inexpensive works, keenly tailored for broad appeal." Believe it. So far, images of the show look really fabulous. Go see.

Goodbye Blue Monday delivers with yet another full weekend of shows — look it over, take your pick!

Saturday, Chez Bushwick presents "Feedback," curated by Roarke Menzies: An evening of Performance, Photography, Video and Sound.

It wouldn’t be summer without an ALL NITE DIY DISCO FREAKOUT DANCEPARTY, now would it? 12AM-5AM, Market Hotel brings you a lineup of DJs, "cosmic video installations, and free vegan spacecakes — from the people behind the DONUTS parties in SF."

Monday, celebrate the 7th (whoa) anniversary of Life Cafe on Flushing! There will be drink specials, free apps from 6-8, giveaways (totes, people, TOTES) and bday shots. Aso check out their new prices, August weekday specials and Sunday flea market.

Tuesday, there’s even MORE music at Silent Barn: Bomb the Music Industry with The Sidekicks and Little Lungs.

Lumenhouse is trying out a Tuesday evening yoga class (which sounds lovely but unfortunately conflicts with Starr Space‘s class). Btw — in addition to the "venue as yoga studio" phenomenon we’ve been experiencing lately, there is now a music festival/yoga retreat out west…. Are you listening, Bushwick?

Wednesday, attend a prayer service at Beauty Bar Brooklyn. DJ Rev. Vince spins Gospel, soul, country & disco to "save your soul."

Apropos of nothing, I leave you with a little "exercise news/ridic hipster" story that reaffirmed my dislike for LA (thanks Carla!), AND my current favorite site — geek out on FB parent overshare.

Happy summering and let us know how things are this weekend and what’s up for the next one (it already sounds pretty rad)!
