This week, the Morgan L area — yes, that repository of modern youth culture that is home to the McKibbin lofts and many other similar spots — is our focus. It’s Bushwick’s (or East Williamsburg, if you want to be a stickler for Community Board boundaries) most popular and therefore expensive area, but it also is home to several art spaces and places to dine.

$1725 — 1br loft: Very nicely set-up loft at The Loom, sleek new kitchen area, old industrial wood floors, pressed-tin ceilings, and lovely high windows in the bedroom. You can add or remove walls inside and do any updates you want, and soon enough this will be a convenience retail nirvana.

$1522 — 1br loft: Pretty little loft on McKibbin — love the painted floors — with massive windows, 12-foot ceilings, off-street orientation (for those who want to miss the street fairs), and a 150sqft sleep loft.

$1600 — 1br loft: Another cute space on McKibbin made with reclaimed materials — the kitchen is “made from rescued wood from an 1800s barn in Pennsylvania” — and has a windowed, air-conditioned bedroom “pod” that looks out over the loft. Kinda awesome.

$1800 — 2br loft: New loft renovation, a bit bland, but not offensively so. Great big windows, two bedrooms, wood floors, attractive kitchen — this place is not bad at all. I don’t know if this is the exact location, though, as there are no loft building at this intersection.

$1350 — 1br: Amazing old building, recently renovated, some apartments with stunning views of Bushwick and Manhattan, and may possibly have a cafĂ© downstairs. The nominal rent is a bit high, but you get a free bike, free rent until October, and every unit has a dishwasher. Not in “Morgantown” but the Morgan L is the closest L stop. Also a quick stumble home from Tandem and Phorum.
