According to its resident blogger, Sheepshead Bay is way better than Bushwick, you know, what with all the latter neighborhood’s clutter of arts and culture, proximity to the big bad city, and massive lack of non-Russians-only bars. And though Ned doesn’t realize it, rents in Bushwick are not significantly higher than his hood. As for Bushwick’s “train ride [being] only about 20 minutes shorter” than Sheepshead Bay’s, well, that about 70% shorter, buddy, and we get to Union Square or the LES; you go to FiDi. SB sounds great if you’re a recently broke “going-out shirt”-wearing Wall Streeter who doesn’t quite want to make the jump to Staten Island or Jersey, or if you care about your easy access to South Brooklyn’s many Uzbeki restaurants. Not a bad thing, but certainly not “a much better place to live.”

Tamara honey, don’t worry, none of us can compete with Russian money — it will be your very own middle-class ghetto for many many years to come. Great place to get cheap caviar and smoked salmon though. Keep it up.

I’m from Sheepshead, and your post was pretty mean. I go to High School in Bushwick, and I love Bushwick too, but seriously, at least the Bay isn’t overun by stereotypes.
