RAINED OUT! Sadly, the entire Make Music festival, after months of planning and setting up at 850+ venues throughout the city, was cut short by torrential rains and mass band cancellations. But please join us at Tandem for Ledo y La Vaina and possibly more, around 7:30 or 8. Worst case, come by and have a drink. Thanks to everyone who helped and we’ll try again later this summer!

Bushwick Music and Make Music NY present: Bushwick Music Festival 09, a line-up of five local bands playing in our community’s central square, María Hernández Park. Everyone is invited and it’s free!

It’s close to the wire, yes, but with tons of help from ultra-organized volunteer Clara Schuhmacher and our own Luis Velázquez and Gabo Rodríguez we finally have the bands ready and they are amazing.

Join us two Sundays from now for a diverse arrangement of music, everything from “afro-beat” funk and “post-punk/electro” to a latinoamericano twist on estadounidense rock and punk standards.

4:00 – 4:40 Thought
4:50 – 5:30 Gypsy West
5:40 – 6:20 Ava Luna
6:30 – 7:10 Ledo y la Vaina
7:20 – 8:00 Pass Kontrol

Listen to Ava Luna’s “Four Five (I Will Survive)”

Listen to Pass Kontrol’s “B38″

We look kindly on peripheral activities like food/drink and art sales in and around the venue but take no organizational responsibility. So hock at your own risk!

Don’t forget: Make Music NY is a huge city-wide music festival, and other bands will be playing all around Bushwick that day — make sure to float around before and after our show.
