It’s a holiday weekend yay!

Tonight is full of options. Support the team and hobnob with the artists at the BOS preview & art sale at Lumenhouse. (While I’m on the subject, check out this fab video featuring AiB, Lumenhouse, Austin Thomas, Factory Fresh, Norte Maar and more!)

Newmindspace offers another lo-fi/high concept event: Art Class. Submit your public school art (with a "short but pretentious description") by 5pm OR just go to grab a drink and enjoy the sure-to-be-amazing display accompanied by "background music that was popular 5-10 years ago."

3rd Ward is home to another Handmade Music Night and the Kingdom Den is there for you with the Downstairs Dustup acoustic night.

Friday, take in some theatrics (and super stellar trapeze) at the Bushwick Starr. Head to Goodbye Blue Monday for a dose of daily music featuring Lady Blanche — I saw her for the first time a couple weeks ago at the Kingdom Den and am now a fan! Listen here (Bartender is hilariously ironic).

Saturday afternoon, get performance arty at English Kills at the 2nd installment of Peter Dobill’s 3-part series, AB UNO: Black to Light. In the evening, visit Chez Bushwick for a screening of three films by Alfred Leslie. Work it out at Market Hotel with the So So Glos, Double Dagger, Screaming Females, Air Waves and Video Hippos.

Sunday night, party like you should on a holiday eve! Starr Space is home to All My Crowns are Made of Paper, a "strange evening of spoken word, music and avant theatrics" (which wins best description this month). It sounds like their new curator Joseph Witt (who was responsible for the star-studded Sweet Thunder Talent Expo last month) has put together a pretty amazing evening. "Momus will read from two of his forthcoming books while accompanied onstage by performance artist and dancer Aki Sasamoto. Rusty Santos will debut a set of largely unreleased solo material, and Lord Whimsy will guide the audience through a menagerie of artifacts both inanimate and living."

Monday looks like it’s going to be nice-ish (as of now) so why not have a picnic or grill something, perhaps. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend — wherever you end up. Cheers!
