A man who owns one of those set-back eyesore slap-jobs in the neighborhood is complaining that the attached foreclosed property next to his is being used to house more people than he’d like. Nosy NY1 called the Fire Dept. and got the people booted out presumably for their own good — better to certainly freeze on the street than have a tiny chance of burning to death in a fire, I guess.
News flash: Bushwick is still very much a low-income neighborhood and immigrants do come here to live inexpensively when they are either starting their new lives here or just need a base from which to send remittances. It also makes cheap and convenient housing for previously homeless people trying to get back into the system. Consider this when moving or buying property here.
By the way, this guy’s main complaint is that the neighbors are “talking and laughing” past midnight. That’s called “Bushwick.”

wait is this an ‘illegal homeless shelter’, ‘illegal halfway house’ or ‘illegal boarding house’? it’s all that and more! if it is housing for new immigrants somebody ought to tell the FDNY about chinatown.

uhhhh, tv news reporters – do they really have to talk like that? What makes someone want to become a tv news reporter?
