This beautiful row of Moorish-inspired brick townhomes, though sadly not intact (one of their brothers was destroyed some time back), still show a proud face to the neighborhood and the ages. They also face recently renovated Irving Square Park, their unusually above-grade garden levels giving these otherwise standard three-families extra height to see over the tree tops. The interiors of this house at 1244 Halsey are charming, with original details maintained throughout, and though the kitchens have been unattractively updated, they are new. While it’s established that this area of Bushwick is not in any danger of being terribly fun or having much decent to eat in the near future, the location on the park will likely one day be ideal. I’d try to lop $100,000 off the price, though.

Wow, this looks really nice. Much better than most of the places I have been seeing. I hope there’s an original floor under that parquet, original doors, and fireplaces. The kitchen may be just rental grade, but that’s miles better than the average. At least it’s clean and functional. I agree the price is ridiculous. Try $520,000 — if everything is in perfect condition.

You don’t think that large-size parquet is original?

It looks like cheap, 50s-era parquet to me. (The pieces are too small and too light, there is no border, and I’ve never seen parquet in an Edwardian apt — only Victorian.) But who knows — hard to tell from a photograph. I was totally wrong about your Victorian linoleum.
Which reminds me: I got a book about Victorian decoration that has a bit about printed linoleum you might find interesting.
