This weekend, Arts in Bushwick presents SITE, a neighborhood-wide festival “encompassing theater, dance, music, and other forms of performance art.” The event will center around three “hub” spaces — Chez Bushwick for dance, The Bushwick Starr for theater, and Lumenhouse for “mixed-genre performances.” In between are the bevy of alternative spaces like street corners, living rooms, and art galleries that will host the other affiliated acts, over 30 in total across the Bushwick area.

We will be participating in the event in partnership with local art space Norte Maar. TRANSMITTED will stream a live reading of poetry and other audio performances locally through radio waves and on the internet right here on BushwickBK.com. “Tune in” right here on Sunday for the only available combined audio and visual of this performance.

In conjunction with SITE fest, ionSOUND, a two-day music festival will be hosted by Goodbye Blue Monday on Broadway. Last year’s Bushwick Open Studios Music Festival at the same venue was a crush of hundreds of townies and visitors, a beautiful (if sweaty) experience.

In addition, AIB will host a discussion on the arts community’s participation in local politics, and finally, a grand after-party at 3rd Ward, for “artists and spectators alike.”

Artists can still sign up for inclusion on the SITE web listings up until the date of the festival.
