The cops raided and nearly jailed an owner of the venue Bodega on Broadway and Dodworth. This time I’m not even going to ask if the cops have better things to monitor — I know for a fact they most certainly do, as a naked dead woman was just found a few blocks down, and on another nearby street, José Sucuzhañay was beaten to death. And they’re raiding a music venue that hasn’t pushed the correct amount of paper around? God, this is practically a police cliché.

Something must have set them off, it’s not like the cops would just bust the place without provocation? sounds like they have been having lots of loud parties there recently, is it possible one of their neighbors actually called the cops??
has anybody heard ANY followup to the beating death story? seems to have fallen off the face of the earth, but I hope that’s just because they’re so close to nabbing the perps …

I’m with Jeremy. While I have never had a problem with the cops, I’ve seen plenty of un-deserving people who have. I can totally see the cops deciding that raiding a music venue without provocation would be easier than actually figuring out how a naked, dead woman wound up in a locked parking lot. They must have something to do, because they have never shown up in a timely manner when needed around my block.
Jose was the manager of our apartment building – and you’re right, where is the followup?

Selling booze without a license and operating a business without paying sales tax is basically stealing from society.
