My neighbors and yours Daptone Records recently had tons of equipment stolen from their studio by a different group of our lovely neighbors. The house on Troutman, which was neither alarmed nor insured, had its front gate pried off. Daptone needs help finding new equipment (and their old stuff too!) ASAP because they “have a session scheduled for Friday to lay down some music for (I know this sounds surreal) Rod Stewart”…

I wonder if the cops insinuated it was their fault? It seems to me crime is the one area of community activism NO ONE seems interested in.

That is really unfortunate. Was Rod Stewart coming to Bushwick?

Have to have insurance people! It’s so cheap.

That is such an awful thing to hear. I read an article on this place that had pictures. That place was loaded with equipment. I’m not trying to blame the victim but for a business of this type to not have insurance is beyond oversight. I’m sure no one has to point this out to them now.
I AM SERIOUS PEOPLE, as a victim of two robberies in December, and a longtime Bushwick newcomer (since 2000), I have never heard of so many robberies since I’ve been here. GET RENTER’S INSURANCE now.
The only other option is a pitbull. Seriously, I know who had robberies in their building yet theirs was bypassed because the dickheads saw their vicious looking pitbull.

Looks like the music community came through so Daptone could record that Rod Stewart thing.
