In addition to enjoying a pleasant read about a place I like, I was amused to see Sarah DiGregorio in the Village Voice shrug at the location of TortillerĂa Los Hermanos in a review of the taco shack — “don’t think you have to take five buses and two trains to get there… [it's] actually a half-block from the Jefferson Street L stop.” A couple years ago that might have been more like “sure, it’s in the middle of nowhere 10 stops out on the crosstown subway (which goes into Brooklyn after 1st Av — yes! it does.), but being this far out, it must be good!” My how things change.

This tacqueria is not nearly as good as the full-line restaurant on Maria Hernandez park that serves tacos outside in the summer. The tacos al pastor there are amazing.

The tacos here are some of the best in Bushwick and the city.
Unfortunately, the decor was much more authentic when it was just a table in a factory. Now I feel like I’m in a carwash.
