The Archive, that most blasé of institutions when it comes to customer service, possibly battered on the coffee front by newcomer Cafe Orwell, has now resorted to renting pornography. Apparently their abysmally slow in-house wifi connection has convinced them it’s not worth the time it takes to download or stream it, like most post-1998 Americans do.

To be fair, they’ve had this for ages. There is (or at least was) a little-known binder full of the covers and rental cards over on the table by the smelly armchair. Unfortunately, nothing gay…

Who pays for porn in 2009?

So it should say, “Hey, we’ve had porn for a while!”

Right on about the abysmally slow wi-fi connection. Fix that, and you’ll get more business. Is Cafe Orwell’s better?

Cafe Orwell could be great, but they charge WAY too much for what amounts to just plain CRAPPY coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. They’ve got good sandwiches, could be a little cheaper or a little bigger. Great cookies, don’t know how much they are but probably overpriced too. I’ll keep walking the extra block to Archive or Natural… unless they listen to reason and lower prices.
