Happy Holidays, Bushwick! I’m phoning these in from the heartland this week and from I can glean from the slow internet connection at this cozy farmhouse, it seems like the neighborhood is taking a holiday break. I’ve done a (wee bit lazy) check of all of the usual suspects and come up a little short. So, home team: you tell me. What’s cooking in the Wick this weekend?

This is what I’ve got:

Tonight, grab a spot at the Kingdom for dinner, then head down to the Den for ADD DJ 80s night and bring your dancin’ shoes.

Tomorrow, Vanishing Point presents: A Christmas in the Brooklyn Zoo with live performances by Prophit, Jacobi Wichita, Bad Rabbits and Herra Terra (among others).

Sunday, Sleep When Dead presents Grasshopper 2-set (“orchestrated, seated”) Xmas recital (with free food!) at Silent Barn — early!

Ad Hoc Art is open some holiday weekend hours for your viewing pleasure.

Factory Fresh is closed through their next exhibit on February 12, but you can get your Skewville fix online at great prices.

3rd Ward’s Drawing from Chaos class starts up Jan 20th — sounds great (with or without the pizza at every class…). Sign up by January 15.

Starr Space yoga is closed through Jan 3 and opens up with a new 2009 schedule and launch party following noontime class. New schedule: Tues & Thurs 6:30PM, Wed 7:30PM, Sat & Sun 12PM (not sure if Sunday is still a “community class” but new students get a second class for free).

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season! Enjoy the rest of 2008 and here’s to some more fabulous Bushwick arts & culture in ’09!
