$1400 — 2br: Very decently renovated two-bedroom with a back yard. Also central a/c and you control (and pay for) your own heat. The location is nothing special and not close to trains, but a 10-12 minute walk will get you to both lines.
CATS OK | Putnam and Central | street view | Gates J
$1157 — 1br: The price is weird, but low. A decent, spacious apartment in a well-kept area. My guess is the landlord lives in the house. Cool old moldings, and hey, maybe you can get the owner to pull out that linoleum.
Covert and Knickerbocker | street view | Halsey L
$1595 — 2br: If you’re looking for prime Bushwick, this is it. Decent apartments on a popular and convenient block.
PETS OK | Troutman and Irving | street view | Jefferson L
$1550 — lofts: When done this place will probably be very nice. This part of town is quiet and clean though quite a hike from trains.
PETS OK | Harman and Woodward | street view | DeKalb L/Seneca M
$1950 — 3br: Maybe bit over the top with some of the fixtures but this is very nicely renovated. Not quite sure how they made a mezzanine in this old building but at least there are proper stairs and not a crummy wood ladder to reach it. Dishwasher! Not the most attractive part of the hood but close to trains.
PETS OK | Harman and Wilson | street view | Knickerbocker M/DeKalb L
Bushwick wannabe: The takeover of the whole Myrtle hub area seems to be continuing apace — Stuyvesant and Pulaski is now Bushwick, according to this ad.

That apt on Troutman most certainly IS a tenement railroad, contrary to the ad’s claim, and why do landlords always say they have an apt that’s “never been lived in” (the first ad) when what they mean is the apt has been recently renovated. Ugh. Claiming you have a brand-new building, which means Fedders to me, is not a draw. Just because you re-make a piece of old clothing, say, does not mean it’s “never been worn.” Morons.
